LET'S BREW!

Before you start, warm up your brewer.

Pour hot water into the glass brewer, swirl it around, then discard. This keeps your coffee hot and promotes an even extraction.

  • Step 1

    Grind coffee to medium - coarse. For a single cup use 20g, for two cups use 30g. Pour grounds into glass dripper.

  • Step 2

    Pour grounds directly into the glass dripper.

  • Step 3

    Pour hot water (~ 210℉) through diffuser lid until grounds are saturated & allow it to bloom for 45 seconds.

  • Step 4

    Continue to pour water through the diffuser lid until the water level reaches the handle connection.

  • Step 5

    Allow water to fully drip through the grounds.

  • Step 6

    Place dripper back on base and enjoy!

What is your return policy?

We offer hassle free exchanges or returns within 30 days of your order being delivered to your home. We will cover the return shipping fees within the US up to 30 days after your Pure Over order is delivered. Please send us an email at support@pureover.com to process your return.
How does the coffee stay hot?

Our Brew Kit is designed for fresh-to-cup brewing, rather than keeping coffee on a hot plate. The borosilicate glass helps retain heat, and we recommend preheating your brewer with hot water before brewing.
How much can it brew, and how long does it take?

Our Brew Kit makes up to 20 oz (about 2 large cups) at a time, with a single cup taking about 4–5 minutes to brew.
How does Pure Over filter the coffee?

Pure Over uses a process called cake filtration. It's a process in which the ground coffee acts as a filter itself. Along with the built in glass filter, this makes for a bold, full bodied cup of coffee.
Will coffee grounds get into my cup?

Much like a French Press, some sediment will get through the filter. The microfines and oils that are allowed through play a big part in delivering a flavorful cup with a smooth mouthfeel. However, by brewing into a carafe, you have more control of the pour. For less sediment, pour all but the last ounce or two into your mug. This will allow the sediment to remain within the Carafe.
What grind size should I use?

We recommend a medium-coarse grind. This helps water flow evenly through the coffee grounds for a balanced extraction. Very fine grinds, like espresso or store bought pre-ground coffee, can slow down the brewing process or clog the filter. 
 How do I clean the Brew Kit?

Cleanup is simple. Gently tap the used grounds into your compost or trash (you can also use a spoon to scoop them out). Then rinse with water and place it into the dishwasher!
Can I use a paper filter with the Brew Kit?

The Pure Over Brew Kit was specifically designed to brew without paper filters. Its built-in glass filter allows more of the coffee's natural oils and aromatic compounds to pass through, creating a fuller-bodied cup.

If you want to reduce coffee oils, you can experiment with a small rinsed paper filter, such as an AeroPress filter. However, the brewer is designed to work beautifully without one.
Does the Brew Kit heat water, or do I need a separate kettle?

The Brew Kit is a manual pour-over brewing system, so you'll need to heat your water separately before brewing.

Love my brew kit

"I use mine every morning. I brew 2 cups at one time. I use Crio Bru Cacao which is 100% ground cacao and is pretty course which works out great. I run water in my brew cup before putting in the cacao. Without the paper filter it lets the flavor of the cacao come through better. I like not having any plastic parts also. Will not go back to a drip coffee maker. This is my forever coffee brewer. I take it on trips and vacation also!"
