Much like a French Press, some sediment will get through the filter. The microfines and oils that are allowed through play a big part in delivering a flavorful cup with a smooth mouthfeel. However, by brewing into a carafe, you have more control of the pour. For less sediment, pour all but the last ounce or two into your mug. This will allow the sediment to remain within the Carafe.
Pure Over uses a process called cake filtration. It's a process in which the ground coffee acts as a filter itself. Along with the built in glass filter, this makes for a bold, full bodied cup of coffee.

"I never do this, but I really enjoy making myself coffee with the brew kit. The quality is amazing, and the process is relaxing to me. A nice way to start the day. Great job. And the customer service is terrific."

"I purchased it because I wanted clean coffee without chemicals. I fell in love with it because of my new ritualistic mornings. And just as important was the process of figuring out what worked best. Every morning I love going through the steps of coffee making. It’s relaxing and sets the tone for the rest of the day. I also feel that the coffee probably tastes better because personalizing the process made it so."

"I have always been intrigued about trying a pour over brewing method, but it just seamed so involved. Enter this all glass pour over, and investigating more, I felt it was worth the try……and it was! It exceeded my expectations. Once I learned how this one performed, it was easy peasy and the improved taste hooked me, although it isn’t ideal for a early busy morning getting out the door for work and resort to another method for a quick cup, I look forward to enjoying a spectacular cup of Joe later. Not going back to all that plastic and who knows what is in that retained water in the pod brewers. When needing to have multiple cups for company, I just get out my electric percolator, but notice it just isn’t the same in that satisfying taste of my newly discovered Pour Over. Call me “not going back”!"

"The coffee taste using this glass coffee maker is simply smooth, delicious, and so much better and I am thrilled that I am using it every day."
— L P. (5/5)
"I’m enjoying this brewer. No plastics, no metallic taste, full view as it brews. I grind the beans less for chunkier grounds. Clean up is simple (I hand wash everything)."
— D N. (5/5)
"I didn’t want to love this gizmo, but I do! I know microplastics are everywhere and starting my day with a cup or two of them from my old Keurig wasn’t the healthiest thing to do, but pour-over coffee seemed like a huge inconvenience. Enter Pure Over. It took me a minute to figure it out, order a burr grinder, find freshly roasted beans and all that, but it was worth it. I’m officially a coffee snob now and loving my plastic-free coffee!"
— KAK (5/5)
"I use the Pure Over for my daily pour-over, and it works great for brewing one cup at a time. The glass design looks clean, feels high quality, and the flow makes it easy to get a smooth, balanced cup of coffee. Simple, well made, and a great upgrade for pour-over lovers. ☕"
— Stuart S. (5/5)
"Every cup has been great! The simplicity in the process creates a consistent and delicious pot of coffee every time."
— John P. (5/5)
"To start, it took over 3 months to get this. I did get two thimble sized “cups” for the long wait. That theme continues, the unit is wee. It appears as though it was made to serve coffee in a dollhouse setup with a couple of stuffed bears. Now I will confess, it does make a good cup of coffee, emphasis on a cup. The process is slow and laborious, but worth the time and effort. If you love the prep, and the interaction between you and whatever you are preparing, this will suit you. If it’s just you, this will suit you. If you don’t have a wife who breaks something glass every day, this will suit you."
— Louis K. (4/5)
"I love the simplicity of my Pure Over set. The design reflects true minimalism which fits perfectly in my small kitchen. Not having to buy or deal with paper filters is a huge plus. I never liked the extra step of filtering through paper anyways. Or the taste. From a craftsmanship perspective, the quality and thoughtful design really stands out. It’s easy to clean, efficient to use and produces great coffee every time."
